New West Coast Fever shooter Jhaniele Fowler-Reid says she’s excited by the side’s shooting combinations heading into the second season of Suncorp Super Netball.
Fowler-Reid, who committed to the Club last week, was confident of developing a strong bond with both Captain Nat Medhurst and Kaylia Stanton.
“Both Nat (Medhurst) and Kaylia (Stanton) are great players,” Fowler-Reid said.
“I’m really looking forward to creating an unbreakable combination between all three of us.” Sentiments reinforced by Medhurst.
“Her presence in the circle is huge, and for us to be able to have a player like that coming over here certainly gives us a really strong target,” Medhurst said.
“It also allows us, with the three shooters we do have, certainly allows us to have a moving circle as well.”
“Her ability to hold under such physical pressure and presence is phenomenal.”
“I am really excited that she’s chosen to come to West Coast Fever, and excited to continue to build on what I have done with Kaylia as well.”
Fowler-Reid has cemented her position as one of the world’s leading shooters in recent years, scoring 3,678 goals at 91% accuracy, while Medhurst and Stanton combined for 490 goals in season 2017.
The 27-year-old has played 48 Test Matches for the Jamaican Sunshine Girls, and said she was eager to get into the Fever environment.
“I am looking forward to bringing a certain strength and reliability in the attacking end of the court and just a great personality for everyone to work with as well,” Fowler-Reid said.
“My ambitions for next year is to grow my talent and adapt to the new environment.”
