Top 10: Jane Ward

Jane Ward is one of West Coast Fever's biggest fans. Living in Leonora, almost 1000km from Perth, Jane flies to each of our home games to ensure she's in the stands supporting. She even took her favourite Fever shirt with her to Europe earlier this year. We caught up with her to see what her Top 10 moments of the year were.

10. The signing of Jhaniele Fowler-Reid
I've been watching her for years in the ANZ Championship, and I think we have sealed a very good deal with Jhaniele. I cannot wait to see her combine with Nat Medhurst! It's so exciting to have her for Fever 2018!!

9. The long list of debutants in season 2017
We have such an exciting bunch of players and I can't wait to see how they all go next year having had a season to gel together. So much talent at Fever!

8. Stacey Marinkovich becoming the Club's longest serving Head Coach

Stacey is undoubtedly bringing out the best at the Fever. I like the way she goes about her business with her calm demeanour. She is just the right person to be leading this team.

7. Courtney Bruce being named in the Samsung Diamonds squad

What an honour! I think Courtney had a brilliant season and would have caught Lisa Alexander's eye on more than one occasion. It's great that her hard work has been rewarded in national selection.

5 & 6 combined. Our round 7 victory over Adelaide and being the first team to play under an open roof

Victory always tastes so sweet, but it was so much sweeter being such a unique moment with the Perth Arena roof open. It was a fantastic game to watch and the weather could not have been more perfect for the roof to be open!! Kaylia also put on a shooting clinic!

4. Our Round 5 victory over the NSW Swifts
It was so good to get the runs on the board in the Suncorp Super Netball season, and it was a thrilling game to watch!

3. Jess Anstiss being named in the Australian 21U World Youth Cup Team
I was not at all surprised about her selection! The selectors would have had rocks in their heads to overlook Jess! What an honour for a real star in the making.

2. Nat Medhurst's 200th National League Match
My all time favourite player! I think I tweeted a photo of the Giants standing and applauding Nat when she was presented with her flowers, which was a sign of how highly respected she is in the netball world. I've been idolising Nat for years, and it was wonderful to be there to watch her 200th game.

1. Jess Anstiss winning MVP in her debut season
I picked her to be the Most Valuable Player before the season had ended, so for me that would have to be my number one highlight this season. What an absolute star she is, I enjoyed watching every second of her on court.

Despite the scoreboard not showing too many wins, it feels like we still had a stellar season looking back on all these achievements. I could chat for days about Fever highlights!! Can't wait for season 2018!
